Our friendship started about 5 years ago when Kallie reached out to us to assist and learn about wedding photography. She introduced us to her boyfriend, Alex, and we all quickly became friends. We were drawn to his creative eye and love for adventure as well as her sweet personality and drive to continue learning and creating new things. Not only have they been a part of our Swatch Studios team, but our friendship has continued and we have loved watching them grow and they pursue their dreams.
Today, we celebrate our second anniversary. 730 days side-by-side taking on life’s adventures and challenges. As we are packing our bags for our biggest adventure yet, we are looking back at what a second year of marriage looks like. It’s hard to find the words, exactly, as this year has been a very difficult one. We celebrated our first anniversary in Hawaii making the most amazing memories we could imagine. However, we came home to some news we weren’t expecting. As we waited in baggage claim at Detroit Airport, my brother called to tell me that our mother had been diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer. And just like that, my life was turned upside down.
Nancy & Drew’s beautiful October wedding day started in Fremont at Grace Lutheran Church. The stunning architecture and history of this building really set the tone for the day with its elegance and beauty. The two got ready in separate rooms; Nancy slipping into her pretty lace dress (it had pockets!!) and Drew into his classic black suit. Both were anxiously awaiting that first look down the aisle.
We sometimes joke that our dogs help us book weddings. They have their own section on our ‘About Us’ page and they give away free kisses to any couple that comes through our door (well, the ones that want a smooch, anyway). For Andrea (Andi) and Sean, Winston is what really grabbed their attention. Their love for corgis drove them to contact us and we couldn't be happier about that.
